There wasn’t much much variety in the floral department this month at the grocery store.   I chose two bunches marked down to $2 and ended up with green carnations and some lavender flowers.    I cut them down and separated them into two small arrangements.  For the first bunch, the ‘vase’ is actually the Jonathan Adler bath tumbler that I previously updated with a bit of gold leaf.   I placed the second bunch in the owl vase from Target.

The combination of lavender and green got me thinking about using that color scheme for a room.   I think it’s a great combo for a child’s room.  This first one is my favorite, I love those stripes!  But the second room, from Pottery Barn, seems refreshing too.

Living spaces aren’t the first thing I think of when I think of purple and green, but I came across a few examples I actually like.

What do you think? Are you a fan of purple and green together?   Have you added any new flowers or plants to your home lately? Or has your decor ever been inspired by plants and foliage?

Here’s a tip for your weekend surfing: has overhauled their online presence and in celebration of the relaunch they are running a special sweepstakes.  Today is the last day to enter the HOME sweepstakes (for a Dyson vacuum) but there are new prizes every week and there’s still time to enter for the grand prize.  There are shipping specials and more.

Purple and green…YUMMMY! One of my fav color combos (I even have a pair of p & g slingbacks….but haven’t been able to work the scheme into any decor at my place). Anywho…I’ve been following your blog since day one, though I’ve had to push back a little on decorating since my last project (two kitchen countertop redos at the same time wiped me out for a bit). Do still love the fun and amazingly creative ideas and tips.
