With the exposed basement walls being sheetrocked, we now have a dedicated workout room. My treadmill has been in a bedroom (used as an office) upstairs for a few years but has now been relocated to the basement. That made the office a little less crowded and just begging for an update, so I started thinking about what to do in there. These are my favorite office inspiration pictures.

Our room has a layout that is somewhat like this one, with a window on the back wall. We don’t have such beautiful molding, but that wouldn’t be too bad of a task to add later.

I’m sure you can definitely see some common themes. Right now, I’m loving light, white desks over darker furniture. I think a stylish place to post reminders, invitations, and inspiration pictures is practical and useful. Lighting is important and can really dress up a place that is often thought of as purely functional. And those chinese chippendale chairs are just fabulous. Ballards sells a version with casters that would be lovely!
