Rug Switcheroo

Another foyer update.   It is, after all, the first thing people see. It’s the introduction to your home.

Ours received one update last month with my inspiration wall.  But that was about it.  And that wasn’t even finished for awhile.   Meanwhile the rooms around it, the living room and dining room, had changed which just kinda made the foyer even more sad.

Soooooo, for the past few weeks, I’ve been looking for a new rug.   Last week, I bought two to try out.  Neither ended up working so I returned them.  At the end of the week though, I saw a post on Roost that led me to this post about a black and white striped rug.  LOVE.  Wish *I* would’ve known about it when Ikea was selling them!  Bummer.

So I got the one from Crate & Barrel and I love it in the foyer!  A is not the biggest fan, but I really like how it looks with the black front door and the black frames.  It’s 100% cotton and it fits in the washing machine. Yay.

Just that simple switch out definitely changed the vibe in the hallway.

I like catching a glimpse of it from upstairs too.

As you can see, I’m very pleased with how this one worked out!

By the way,  here’s another rug I ran across during my search that’s along similar lines. I really like the gray and turquoise versions.
